Dante sui Sagrati è un progetto pluriennale di letture dantesche in tre recital, il primo dei quali fu inserito nel festival per le celebrazioni del 750° anniversario della nascita del Poeta: “Dante, L’Immaginario” organizzato dall’Università di Bari “Aldo Moro”.
Il debutto, in anteprima assoluta avvenne sabato 3 ottobre 2015 nella stupenda cornice della Basilica di San Nicola.
I reading, divisi in tre tappe annuali, comprendono i canti più rappresentativi dell’Inferno, del Purgatorio e del Paradiso con i titoli rispettivamente di “Fatti non foste a viver come bruti”, “E canterò di quel secondo regno” “L’amor che move il sole e l’altre stelle”.
Letti in lingua originale e nella traduzione barese di Gaetano Savelli.
Fatti non foste a viver come bruti, della durata di circa 75’, prima tappa, è dedicato appunto all’Inferno con ampi stralci dai Canti primo, terzo, quinto, ventiseiesimo, trentatreesimo.
La manifestazione fu patrocinata dal Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali, dalla Regione Puglia, dal Comune di Bari, dall’Università degli Studi “Aldo Moro”, dal Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, dalla Fondazione Teatro Abeliano, cui si aggiungono oggi l’Arcidiocesi Bari-Bitonto, la Presidenza del Consiglio Regionale, la Lega delle Cooperative, la Cgil Puglia, la Fondazione Puglia, e le maggiori istituzioni locali.
Il reading, al suo debutto, si avvalse di musica eseguita dal vivo da Roberto Ottaviano, poi da Pino Petrella.
In collaborazione con la Diocesi di Bari Bitonto, viene oggi dedicato alle periferie e programmato sui sagrati e nelle chiese della nostra città.
